Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel your Pro or Studio subscription at any time. There are no lock-in contracts or cancellation fees.
How to Cancel
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Select a reason (optional — helps us improve)
- Confirm the cancellation
That's it. No phone calls, no retention hoops, no guilt trips.
What Happens After Cancellation
Your Plan Stays Active Until the End of the Billing Period
If you cancel on the 10th and your billing cycle ends on the 30th, you keep full access to all paid features until the 30th. You've already paid for that time, so you get to use it.
After the Billing Period Ends
Your account automatically reverts to the Free plan:
- Profile and booking page — Still active
- Student data — Fully preserved
- Booking history — Still accessible
- Calendar sync — Still works
- Payments — Still accepted (0% commission)
What You Lose
Features exclusive to your paid plan become unavailable:
- AI tools (lesson planner, copilot, auto-homework)
- Session packages (existing ones stay active until used)
- Student progress reports
- Custom branding (reverts to TutorLingua branding)
- Additional services beyond the Free limit
Data Retention
We believe your data belongs to you. After cancellation:
- Student records — Kept indefinitely on the Free plan
- Booking history — Kept indefinitely
- Lesson notes — Kept indefinitely
- AI-generated content — Lesson plans and reports remain accessible (read-only)
- Payment records — Kept for tax and compliance purposes
We never delete your data just because you downgrade. If you upgrade again later, everything will be waiting for you.
Refund Policy
Monthly Subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions are not refundable for partial months. When you cancel, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
Annual Subscriptions
If you cancel an annual subscription:
- Within 14 days of purchase — Full refund, no questions asked
- After 14 days — No refund for the remaining period, but your plan stays active until the annual period ends
Exceptions
We review refund requests on a case-by-case basis. If you feel you have a special circumstance, contact us at support@tutorlingua.co and we'll do our best to help.
Reactivating Your Subscription
Changed your mind? You can resubscribe at any time:
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Upgrade on the plan you want
- Enter payment details
- All features are restored immediately
Your student data, booking history, and everything else will be right where you left it.
Deleting Your Account Entirely
If you want to permanently delete your TutorLingua account and all associated data:
- Cancel any active subscription first
- Go to Settings > Account
- Click Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion
Warning: This is permanent and irreversible. All your data — profile, students, bookings, notes — will be permanently deleted. We cannot recover it.
