Founder beta scope
TutorLingua is currently a web-first founder beta for tutor-led language practice. It helps tutors invite learners, assign homework, and review learning evidence.
The beta is not a certification service. It is not a tutor marketplace, school-management system, emergency service, or guaranteed always-on speech scoring service.
Paid tutor plans
Tutors can use TutorLingua free for up to 5 active learners. Paid self-serve plans are monthly subscriptions for larger active-learner allowances: 10 learners for $19/month, 15 learners for $29/month, 20 learners for $37/month, and 25 learners for $43/month. There is no annual plan at launch.
The 25-learner allowance is the self-serve ceiling. If a tutor needs more than 25 active learners, they should contact support before inviting more learners.
Trials, manual access, and renewals
TutorLingua may offer a no-card reverse trial or manually approved access. Any private founding arrangement is assigned directly by the founder and is not a public self-serve offer.
Paid subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Stripe Checkout shows the selected plan, price, renewal cadence, billing address fields, available tax ID fields, and any tax calculation before payment is completed.
Payment, tax, invoices, and receipts
Stripe hosts TutorLingua Checkout and the billing portal. Tutors should enter accurate billing, address, and tax information. Receipts, invoices, payment-method updates, and billing-history access are handled through Stripe where available.
Prices are listed in USD before any tax Stripe calculates at Checkout. Tax treatment can depend on the billing address, tax information, and payment method details a tutor provides.
Cancellation, downgrades, and failed payment
Tutors can manage billing through the account page after a Stripe customer record exists. Cancellations are scheduled for the end of the current billing period, so paid access normally remains until that period ends.
Downgrades take effect at the next billing period. Existing learner relationships are not deleted because of a downgrade or payment failure, but adding new active learners can be blocked when the tutor is over the current allowance.
If payment fails, TutorLingua may apply a short grace period before reducing access to the free allowance or the last valid entitlement.
Refunds and support
Monthly subscription payments are generally non-refundable once the billing period has started, unless required by law or separately agreed by TutorLingua. Contact support if there is a duplicate charge, billing error, or product-access failure.
A refund, chargeback, or cancelled subscription may lead to the matching paid allowance being reduced, cancelled, or reviewed. This does not limit any rights a tutor has by law.
Accounts and invitations
You must use accurate account information and keep your sign-in details safe. Tutors should invite only learners they already have permission to teach or manage.
Learners should use the product for their own assigned practice. Do not impersonate another user, use another person's invite, or try to access another tutor-student relationship.
Tutor judgement
Homework results, pronunciation scores, feedback, and review summaries are learning aids. They can help a tutor decide what to teach next, but they are not professional, legal, medical, immigration, employment, or exam advice.
Tutors remain responsible for lesson decisions, learner communication, and any obligations they have outside TutorLingua.
Speech and provider availability
Speech practice may require microphone access, learner consent, and a working third-party pronunciation provider. If consent, budget, provider availability, browser permission, or network conditions block scoring, TutorLingua may offer a retry or non-speech path instead.
Do not submit speech or text that you do not have the right to share with TutorLingua.
Support and data rights
Support and account requests are handled through the account messaging area or by email. Privacy and safety reports may be prioritised for admin review.
Data export, correction, retention, and account deletion are support-handled processes during the founder beta. A request starts a priority privacy/data review of account, active tutor-learner relationships, homework evidence, billing state, support messages, email events, speech consent, and retained audit rows.
Learning evidence, tutor reviews, billing events, support timelines, and admin audit rows are not silently rewritten from support. TutorLingua may retain or annotate records where needed for support, safety, billing, audit, legal, or tutor lesson-evidence reasons.
Children and responsible use
Paid self-serve launch is intended for independent tutors working with adult learners. TutorLingua is not intended for children under 13. Tutors who work with minors are responsible for having the required permission from the learner or guardian before inviting them.
Guardian requests for tutor-managed learners must include enough account and relationship context for support to verify authority before export, correction, or deletion action.
Do not use TutorLingua to harass, exploit, mislead, or harm another person, or to upload unlawful, abusive, or privacy-invasive content.
Changes and suspension
We may change the product or these terms as the founder beta develops. We will avoid retroactive changes that materially harm users without reasonable notice.
We may limit or suspend access when needed to protect users, investigate abuse, maintain service reliability, comply with law, or operate the beta responsibly.
