How to use it
Amueblar means 'to furnish' — to equip a property with furniture. It is transitive and always takes a direct object (amueblar el piso, amueblar una habitación). The past participle amueblado/a is frequently used as an adjective: un piso amueblado (a furnished flat). The opposite is sin amueblar or vacío. At B1 amueblar appears in discussions of renting furnished vs unfurnished properties and in narrating the process of setting up a new home.
Common mistake
Amueblar and decorar are related but distinct: amueblar is putting furniture in a space; decorar is the broader process of making it look nice (including wall colour, plants, accessories). Don't use amueblar for 'decorate' — that is decorar or adornar.
