horse

How to use it
Caballo means 'horse' (masculine). Feminine yegua ('mare') uses a different word, not *caballa. Plural caballos.
Common mistake
The female of caballo isn't 'caballa' — Spanish uses a separate word, yegua. Don't try to feminise caballo with -a.
