How to use it
Espacioso means 'spacious' — having plenty of space. It is always used with ser (permanent characteristic) and describes properties, rooms, or areas. At B1 it appears in property descriptions and comparisons. Common collocations: un salón espacioso, bastante espacioso, más espacioso que. Its near-synonym amplio is slightly more formal; grande is broader but less precise about the sense of open space.
Common mistake
Espacioso is narrower than grande: grande simply means 'big', while espacioso implies a sense of openness and room to move. Both use ser (permanent quality). Don't use estar with espacioso — 'el piso está espacioso' is incorrect. Also note: the noun espacio (space) and the adjective espacioso share the root — recognise both forms.
