How to use it

Hoy means 'today'. Adverb (no article needed). Often combined with hoy en día ('nowadays').

Common mistake

Hoy is invariable (no gender, no article). Don't say 'el hoy' or 'la hoy'. For 'today's [something]' use 'de hoy': 'el periódico de hoy'.
