How to use it

Renovable means 'renewable' — describing an energy source or resource that is naturally replenished within a human timescale. It is a two-form adjective (same form for masculine/feminine; plural: renovables). It is most commonly found in the compound las energías renovables or as a standalone adjective: fuentes renovables, recursos renovables. Contrast with no renovable (non-renewable) or fósil (fossil).

Common mistake

Renovable (renewable) and reutilizable (reusable) are different concepts that students sometimes confuse. Renovable refers to natural replenishment over time (solar, wind); reutilizable means something can be physically reused (a reusable bag, reutilizable). The noun is la renovabilidad (rarely used) or, more commonly, las energías renovables as a collective phrase.
