How to use it
Integrar means 'to integrate' or 'to incorporate as part of a whole'. Two key uses at B2: (1) transitive — integrar algo en algo (integrate something into something: integrar las tecnologías en el aula); (2) reflexive — integrarse en (become part of: integrarse en la sociedad, integrarse en un equipo). The reflexive sense of social integration is particularly important. Don't confuse with incorporar (add/include as a component) or fusionar (merge — create a single entity from two).
Common mistake
Integrarse en (become part of a group/society) vs. incorporarse a (join/start working). 'Me incorporé al equipo el lunes' (I joined the team on Monday — the action of starting). 'Me integré en el equipo con el tiempo' (I integrated into the team over time — the ongoing process of fitting in). Both prepositions differ: en for integrar, a for incorporar.
