How to use it
Interactuar (con) means 'to interact with'. It is intransitive and always takes con. At B2, it is used in social, digital, and educational contexts: interactuar con los usuarios (interact with users), interactuar con el público (interact with the audience). It is a relatively new borrowing into Spanish, used especially in technology, psychology, and education. Don't confuse with relacionarse con (relate to — more personal social relationship) or comunicarse con (communicate with — specifically about exchange of information).
Common mistake
Interactuar con (interact — mutual engagement) vs. relacionarse con (relate to — build a relationship). 'Interactuamos en el evento' (we interacted at the event — brief mutual engagement); 'nos relacionamos con proveedores de distintos países' (we relate to suppliers from different countries — ongoing relationship). The preposition after interactuar is always con.
