How to use it
El juicio (noun, masculine) covers three B2 meanings: (1) judgement/assessment — the act of forming an opinion (emitir un juicio; a mi juicio), (2) a trial/court case (juicio oral; celebrar un juicio), and (3) sanity/reason (perder el juicio = to lose one's mind). At B2, senses 1 and 2 are equally important. Key collocations: emitir un juicio; juicio de valor; a mi juicio (in my view); día del Juicio Final (Day of Judgement).
Common mistake
A mi juicio = in my judgement/opinion (not *según mi juicio). Juicio de valor = value judgement (a fixed phrase). Juicio oral = oral hearing/trial. 'To stand trial' = ser juzgado or someterse a un juicio. Don't confuse juicio (the noun) with juzgar (the verb, to judge).
