How to use it
Recuperar means 'to recover', 'to retrieve', or 'to regain'. Reflexive recuperarse (de) means 'to recover from (illness, crisis)'. Transitive: recuperar datos, recuperar la confianza, recuperar el terreno. Very frequent in health, economy, and technology registers.
Common mistake
Recuperar (regain/retrieve) vs. sanar (heal — specifically bodily healing) vs. reponerse (recover from shock/illness — more colloquial). Recuperarse is the standard B2 verb for both physical and economic recovery.
