Common mistake
Señalar (indicate/signal) vs. señalizar (put up road signs) — never use señalizar for abstract signalling. In English 'signal' is both verb and noun; in Spanish the noun is señal and the verb is señalar. 'The data signal X' = Los datos señalan X — the verb agrees with the data (plural).
