How to use it

Treinta means 'thirty'. Invariable. From 31 onwards numbers are formed with y: treinta y uno, treinta y dos, etc., written as three words.

Common mistake

From 31 onwards the y stays separate: 'treinta y dos', not 'treintaidós'. Single-word compounds are reserved for 16–29 only.
