How to use it
'Remoto/a' means remote — either geographically distant or a remote possibility. Used with ser. The fixed phrase 'ni por asomo' can replace 'ni la más remota posibilidad'. Note: 'control remoto' (remote control) is a fixed collocation.
Common mistake
Don't use 'remoto' for 'unlikely' in general — the phrase requires 'la más remota posibilidad' or similar fixed frame.
